DRIFT-FOOD Research Centre at the 2nd Bioeconomy Workshop in Prague

The 2nd Bioeconomy Workshop: Towards an Inclusive Bioeconomy took place on 2–3 October 2025 at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences.

DRIFT-FOOD researchers played a key role in Session 7 – Biotech Innovations in the Bioeconomy.

  • Dr. Sandra Teresita Martín del Campo, Senior Researcher, delivered the keynote “Tendencies in Agricultural Byproducts Valorization”, outlining innovative approaches to transform agricultural residues into valuable resources.
  • Dr. Alexa Pérez Alva, Junior Researcher, presented “Transformation of Brewer’s Spent Grain (BSG) into Value-Added Products”, showcasing research on converting this brewing side stream into sustainable food and feed ingredients.

Their contributions highlighted DRIFT-FOOD’s commitment to advancing circular solutions and sustainable innovations in the bioeconomy.
