DRIFT-FOOD at AgroShow: Science Workshops
The DRIFT-FOOD Research Centre took part in AgroShow, a faculty orientation and networking course for new students held by the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources from 14–16 August 2026. As part of the programme, DRIFT-FOOD contributed a series of short, hands-on science workshops led by Dr. Bakht Ramin Shah, Senior Scientist, introducing students to the field of food science and giving them an engaging glimpse into the research carried out at the DRIFT-FOOD Research Centre.
The workshops combined practical activities with opportunities to interact with researchers, ask questions, and learn more about their work and experiences in the field. This personal interaction was one of the highlights for participants. When asked what was best about the course, one student responded: “Talking with professors about what they work on and about their experiences in the field.” The lecture presented in English language was particularly well received, with one participant wishing there could have been two lectures instead of one.
Through these activities, DRIFT-FOOD gave new students an accessible and practical introduction to food science while offering them the opportunity to discover the research environment, people, and activities at the DRIFT-FOOD Research Centre.
