39th EFFoST International Conference in Porto
The DRIFT-FOOD Research Team was proudly represented at the 39th EFFoST International Conference 2025, “Fostering the Transition to Sustainable Food Systems: Embracing Novelty and Overcoming Challenges,” held from 17–19 November 2025 in Porto, Portugal.
Dr. Baigts Allende chaired Session 13: Novel Proteins and Future Food Ingredients and delivered a scientific talk entitled: “Physically Crosslinked Composite Hydrogels Using Functionalized Insect Protein Isolates Treated with Low-Intensity Pulsed Electric Fields.” This work is part of the Drift Food project and contributes to Ali Kozlu’s PhD thesis. Dr. Perez Alva also presented her poster titled: “Use of Edible Insect (Tenebrio molitor) Extracts for the Production of Functional Corn-Based Food Products.”
Congratulations to both researchers for showcasing innovative developments in insect-based food ingredients and future food technologies!
